The iconography is rich in religious symbols. Saint Joseph's flowered staff represents his purity and divine election, while the white flowers, lilies, symbolize chastity. Joseph's yellow or ochre cloak evokes wisdom and divine light, emphasizing his protective spiritual role. The Infant Jesus, half covered with a cloth, embodies both his human and divine nature, foreshadowing his future sacrifice. The tender interaction between Joseph and Jesus symbolizes love and divine protection. The late 19th century molded giltwood frame is decorated with intricately carved stylized laurel leaves, symbolizing victory and honor, and rows of raised pearls that frame the interior. Delicate arabesques and scrolls add a dynamic dimension to the overall ornamentation. The painting has been carefully cleaned in our restoration workshop, where it has benefited from minor light interventions. It is in excellent condition.
