JOHN OF JERUSALEM AT THE GRAND PRIORY OF FRANCE, HEAD OF THE NOBLE HORSE-RIDING REGIMENT OF OUR NAME, &c. &c. &c. Certificate given to “LOUIS DE VERDALLE, from the Province of Aunis, S. Lieutenant in the legion of Lauzun* on September 20, 1782, lieutenant on August 15, 1788. Emigrated on August 11, 1791 after having fought in the 1792 campaign in the army of the Princes brothers of the King, those of 1794 and 95 in the Noble Hussars of Étienne Damas**, joined the army of Condé. With this corps, he fought in the campaigns of 1796 and 1797, was wounded in the 0berkammelach*** affair in 1796, joined our Regiment during the formation of Russia, fought in the 1799 campaign there and still serves today in our Regiment as a good and faithful subject of the King.
