Object description :

"Marble Element In The Shape Of A Triton, 17th Century."
Splendid and rare marble element in the shape of a Triton with wide open phalanges, probably an element forming part of a marvelous seventeenth-century fountain, or an apotropaic architectural element, which could have an earlier date, dating back to the sixteenth century.

The animal was sculpted in a masterly manner by an artist who, despite producing elements taken from fantastic animals, shows a certain competence in the processing of natural data, such as the teeth, mouth and scales of the dragon-shaped animal.

The state of conservation and beauty of this clear white marble is noteworthy.

The measurements of the object are approximately 35cm.

We attach a certificate of authenticity guarantee to the sale.
