Josep Mundet I Tarrés was a sculptor from Torroella. During his early career, he taught at the Barcelona School of Arts La Llotja, as well as holding a variety of individual and group exhibitions and commissions. In 1973, Mundet made the monument in memory of Monsignor Viver on the Passeig de l'Esglesia in Torroella, and in 1975 the monument of the Sardana in Fora Portal.
