Double-sided screen composed of four lacquered and hollow-carved panels The front, on a black lacquered background decorated with a cherry blossom and birds The back, decorated with lake landscapes populated by Chinese dignitaries evolving in a decor of bridges and pagodas This very versatile screen can be used on the more sober side, for a 1970s decor and on the other for a more Asian decor. Reinforced feet, protected by a brass hoop. Beautiful black coromandel lacquer in good condition some slight traces of use on the edges in the lower part a small repaint on the black lacquer of the back without visible consequences. Provenance: senior French official in Indochina in the 1930s. Measures each sheet 1.83 x 0.40
