Sumptuous Solid Silver Flatware Set from the ART NOUVEAU period c.1900 by PUIFORCAT in the extremely rare IRIS model. The set comprises 12 Dinner Forks and 12 Dinner Spoons, a total of 24 Pieces with a sinuous Iris decoration playing on the reliefs, and a stlyized interlaced monograms. Very finely crafted from the highest quality silver, each piece is punched with the Minerva 1st Standard (.950) Hallmark, and mark of celebrated Master Goldsmith Emile PUIFORCAT (hallmark with the initials "EP" and a penknife). This sumptuous ART NOUVEAU Flatware Set in the rare IRIS pattern by Puiforcat is in excellent condition, revised and cleaned by our Goldsmith with just light signs of use to note, and presented in a period box. Designed and finely crafted to grace the finest of tables...
This sublime Iris pattern is represented several times in David Allan's reference work listing the most popular models of French goldsmith cutlery during the 19th century..
