Renaissance Candlestick With Bronze Column France - Style - 16th Century

Bronze candlestick from the late Renaissance 16th / 17th century, commonly called Henri II torch,

Stands out for the fineness of its details and the elegance of its shapes. On the top, we find a slightly frustoconical bin or bucket with an extraction window, surmounting a shaft, a smooth and slightly potbellied column, finished with a square section entablature.

This set rests on a thick base, ensuring perfect stability and shaped by hand on a lathe (see photos), which has relief molding on the top.

                        Diameter: 12 cm.

An example of bronze craftsmanship in France at the beginning of the 17th century, combining elegance and robustness.
