Paul André Jean ESCHBACH (1881-1961) A student of JP Laurens in Paris, he painted portraits until 1920 (gold medal). He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1903. He then won prizes and awards and some of his paintings were acquired by museums. (Cambrai) He also specialized in snow landscapes. He discovered Brittany and port life and shared the presidency of the Union Artistique de Concarneau with Barnoin. An excellent colorist, he knew how to paint Brittany with the rigorous personality of a marine painter. He taught at the Julian Academy from 1912 to 1938. Gold medalist in 1920. He is present in many museums.
