Bronze with a nuanced antique green patina - Reduction of a monument commissioned in 1950 (see last photo)- good condition. Danji Seto - 1905 - 1991 Japan - The artist was born in Nagano Prefecture. After graduating from the agricultural and commercial school, he worked in a sake liquor store, then moved to Tokyo in 1924. He studied painting from 1927 to 1929, then returned to his hometown to become a primary school teacher. He was a schoolteacher for 11 years. At the same time, he studied sculpture and exhibited. From 1933 he was regularly awarded prizes. He continued his career while being a farmer. From 1949 he was regularly selected (for about 30 years) for the Fine Arts exhibitions Works at the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art (MOMAT) - The Tatsuno Art Museum holds dozens of pieces. He is known for his creations with static poses, animated by a detail or a gesture, marked by an underlying eroticism.
