Bronze sculpture representing two hunting dogs at a standstill bearing the names of Séduisant and Lumineau Auguste Cain, French animal sculptor (1821-1894) frequented the Jardin des Plantes at a very young age where he studied the attitudes of wild animals. From 1846 he participated in the Paris Salon and worked in the foundry of his father-in-law PJ Mène, the main publisher of his works. From 1860, he received numerous orders from the State for monumental works in bronze.
