French Art Déco Iron and Marble Desk / Writing Table in Industrial Design 1940s

The object is simple and purist in design, the elegance and sophistication lies in the simplicity and the combination of materials.
The solid iron frame with its rivets placed on the sides is cool and distant but very present.
The original table had a wooden top which we removed and replaced with a brushed black-brown-grey lime stone top
(Pierre Noir) .
The brushed, matt surface is open-pored and has very small heights and depths and brings a certain chic rusticity.
The top is beveled at the edges and sits perfectly in the table rebate.
It perfectly complements the table frame to create a timeless table object.

The table is heavy in weight, but visually light in appearance.
It is absolutely stable and resilient.
Making the table a little lower would also be no problem, our metalworker can cut the table to size.
The surface of the iron was treated with wax.
