"André Groult & Pinton In Aubusson (attributed) Pair Of Art Deco Armchairs 1925"
Elegant pair of Art Deco armchairs circa 1925 to be compared to a work by André Groult presenting a gondola-shaped structure with an openwork backrest in carved wood depicting a stylized trimmings decoration flanked by volutes, the tapered front legs are animated with an oblong motif sculpted in honeycombs, the sabre-shaped rear legs. The seats are covered with an Aubusson tapestry attributed to the Pinton workshop in Aubusson representing a cubist motif in the purest Art Deco spirit animated by birds in lush vegetation. Good general condition, the seats are very stable and the tapestries are in a beautiful state of use and conservation.
