"Oil On Canvas "neapolitan Festival" 19th Century"
Oil on canvas "Fête Napolitaine" in its wooden and gilded stucco frame, 19th century. This painting represents a Neapolitan festival scene, the city of Naples is internationally renowned for its songs, its musicians and singers since antiquity, singing, music, and partying are for the Neapolitans a way of life that has not faded today. The scene represented here is a perfect illustration of this, in the center a couple of dancers, surrounded on their right by seated musicians, on their left by spectators seated near a fountain under trees. Note that this scene is part of daily life since a man and his dog as well as a water carrier pass by (in the background on the right). On the other hand, this scene reveals in the background the Bay of Naples bathed in a soft light under a sky with pink-tinted clouds, at the water's edge some boats, a shepherd and his flock. In the foreground, musical instruments, jugs... contribute to creating the atmosphere of the party! This painting is of great pictorial quality, the faces are very expressive, the clothes are remarkably represented and detailed... All that's missing is the sound, to take us into the party!
Good condition, small restoration visible when dreaming, some touch-ups to the frame.
