Solid Walnut Bookcase, Louis XVI Style – Mid 19th Century

Solid walnut bookcase opening with two doors with recessed frames on the front revealing a fine molding around the two windows composing them. These doors mounted on three brass hinges, close using an original iron lock accompanied by two diamond-shaped entrances. Below, a recessed drawer is decorated with two brass drop handles with rosettes. On each side, the uprights have stopped grooves. This piece of furniture rests on four turned feet forming a spinning top and ending in sabots. The sides of this bookcase are composed of two panels with moldings around the perimeter and uprights with stopped grooves as well. This piece of furniture is furnished with five shelves with walnut edges. One of these shelves is positioned at the level of the central crosspiece of the doors.
