André Derain, born June 10, 1880 in Chatou and died September 8, 1954 in Garches, is a French painter, known to be one of the founders of Fauvism.

He is also a painter of ballet and theater sets and costumes, engraver, illustrator, sculptor and writer. Here is a beautiful and large signed brown ink representing the village of Danemarie in Montois, a town near Paris where André Derain lived.

This original work is signed lower right and is presented under glass in a Montparnasse-type carved wooden frame. Frame dimensions included: 77 x 60
