"Large Pyramid-shaped Box, France, 17th Century"
Travel box of fairly large size 37x15.5x11cm and of a fairly original and unusual pyramid shape. The box is made of wood covered with leather decorated with geometric patterns and small irons in the shape of beech leaves, France, 17th century. The box therefore measures 37cm wide, 11cm deep and 15.5cm high. Pretty ornate lock. The interior has lost its original paper and lining. There are traces of a later/recent lining. Some small losses of leather at the corners, edges and corners and some consolidations to the leather, however good condition of conservation and small ironwork.
