A double-bodied walnut sideboard, made at the end of the 16th century, around 1580, in Tuscany.
During the Renaissance, monumental shapes and cut decorations were favoured for furniture. Typical of this period are the ‘feet’ in the shape of a lion's paw, and the hanging iron handles, as in this case.
The base of the ensemble measures 112x193x65 cm, while the riser measures 69x167x43 cm. The total measurements of the sideboard are 181x193x65 cm.
The cabinet has 6 doors and 3 drawers and the interior is made of softwood.
The condition report is good considering its age. There are some old restorations, such as the last wooden plank of the back, which is a replaced piece, and other minor interventions.
