PEWTER PITCHER with shoulder, oblique plinth foot, straight heel cup and thumb with molded crest with molded and rampant tongue.
Unpublished hallmark of Jean III DELAVIGNE received master around 1750: winemaker's tool / JDL / P / C (the P meaning Pontoise and the C common).
Height: 22.1 cm.
PONTOISE, Second half of the 18th century.

Perfect condition, in medium patina
Of rare provenance
These pitchers were the wine measures of the Ancien Régime, this explains the presence of the gauging cone visible on the penultimate shot arrowed in red.
