This is an elegant 20th-century French Louis Philippe-style walnut painted escritoire, also known as a "secretaire à abattant," featuring a charming light blue painted finish. It has a rounded, molded top over a frieze drawer. The fall front opens to reveal a fully outfitted interior, designed with a shaped cornice, six functional drawers, and a spacious niche for storing books and letters. The writing surface, supported by large brass hinges, is upholstered with a leather top.
