Old painting from the end of the 19th century, oil on mahogany panel (Hennequin) and signed lower right Cristobal de Antonio, representing the delightful portrait of a flower seller in a street in Paris in the Gothic style. The varnish is worn in places at the bottom of the panel, otherwise good condition. Total dimensions: 44 cm x 35 cm, the work alone 27 cm x 35 cm. Cristóbal de Antonio studied at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, then moved to Paris where he studied in the studio of Alexandre Cabanel and Fernand Cormon, he met Van Gogh, Lautrec and Émile Bernard, with whom he formed friendly relationships. He participated in the Salons in 1888, 1889, 1892 and 1899.
