Very beautiful and large mask of FANG influence, from the secret society NGIL, it refers to the gorilla, a fascinating animal figure. Its stretched face, with half-closed slit eyes and an open mouth. Trace of Kaolin. This mask is inspired by the secret society of Ngil of the Fang of Gabon. The leader of this secret society had the function of flushing out and punishing sorcerers and perpetrators of crimes. He had all the rights to discover the truth and restore order. The Ngil was finally banned by the French colonial authorities in 1910.
