One of the world's leading retailers of collectibles, JC Vickery was a thriving business for over 40 years, leaving behind a legacy of antiques that are coveted by collectors today.
The company was founded by John Collard Vickery, who was born in 1855 and, with his then partner Arthur Thomas Hobbs, bought the business of William Griggs, established in 1890 at 183 Regent Street, a well-known stationer and bookseller.
As well as continuing to sell stationery, the company also expanded its business to include jewellery and gold and silverware.
