Beautiful oil on hardboard panel by the famous mountain painter Charles-Henri CONTENCIN (1898-1955), he is one of the greatest French mountain painters.
Our painting depicts the head of Lauranoure as seen from the Vénéon valley, in the Écrins Massif.

Born in Paris and died in Eaubonne in the Val-d'Oise, Charles Henri Contencin is a French mountain painter. He painted many oils of the great Alpine massifs, mainly the Mont-Blanc massif and the Écrins massif. His palette is characteristic and he particularly appreciates the effects of sunrise or sunset on snow or glaciers.
