"Pair Of Plaques With Centaurs, Italy 19th Century"
Pair of plaques in patinated bronze cast representing pendant centaurs, one playing music, the other the zither, the centaur is a half-man, half-horse creature from Greek mythology. Work from the Grand Tour of the 19th century Italy, trace of signature at the bottom right. The plaques measure 19 by 17. They are presented in Louis XVI style carved wooden frames (small accidents and losses to the gilding which will be repaired in our workshop).
