Beautiful bronze plaque decorated after the antique representing the goddess Eos driving her chariot to announce the coming of the day. The quadriga is held by her lover Cephalus, represented naked at the head of the horses. Eos is depicted as a radiant goddess with soft hair and rosy arms and fingers. The Roman equivalent of Eos is Aurora.
Reproduction of an original Hellenistic style marble dating from the 4th century BC. AD exhibited at the Lisbon Museum.
