It dates from the late 17th century or the early 18th century -- circa 1680/1720 -- and comes from Greece.
This work is characterized in particular by the finesse and dynamism of its composition.
Saint George is represented as a warrior wearing flamboyant armor and riding a white steed.
The icon is delicately painted in tempera in warm tones on a carved wooden panel whose background is covered with gold leaf.
