"Charles Ogier (1856-1897), The Saint Sebastian Coast In Nantes In 1887, Oil On Panel"
Charming oil painting on wood panel depicting a view of the Côte Saint Sébastien in Nantes, on the banks of the Loire. Painting by Charles OGIER (1856-1897), born in Nantes in 1856, Charles Ogier was trained in the same city at the drawing school of the painter Victor Guerry. He began at the Salon in 1880, but his career as an artist was unfortunately short-lived, as he died at the age of 41 in 1897. Essentially a landscape painter, he left many high-quality works, in particular views of the Basque country. This painting is framed in a superb Barbizon frame in wood and gilded stucco in very good condition. On the back, annotation by the painter with the date, place and dedication for his friend Serpette. Period late 19th century, 1887. Delivery 18 euros in France, 35 euros in the EU and 100 euros rest of the world. Low price not negotiable, thank you.
