"Louis XVI Fireplace In Royal Red Marble"
Elegant, antique Louis XVI style fireplace-surround in Belgian Rouge Royal marble. Dating from the second half of the 19th century. Complete with its cast iron foyer. It stood from 1881 till the date of removement in a Maison Maître in Brussels. Together with another, very similar Louis XVI fireplce, also made out of the Rouge Royal marble, but a bit smaler. And is also in our collection. The shelf is resting above a wide, fluting frieze, centered by a delicate carved floral cartouche in Carrrara marble. The frieze is flanked by floral endblocks. Fluted jambs are supported on plain footblocks. Will be delivered with old Carrara marble floortiles to make a frontfloor. Note: Photo is taken before dismantling, fireplace is cleaned now in my workshop. Easy to re-install. No restorations or missing parts. Worldwide shipping.
