Rare Pair of Calais Candlesticks in Solid Silver from the early 18th century with square bases with cut sides and molded projections. Pair engraved with a period alliance coat of arms under a count's crown. Under the bases, engraving showing the date "1731". Hallmarks for CALAIS 1722-38 (including Crowned A and Fleur-de-lys) and Hallmarks of the Master Goldsmith Antoine WILLEMS (Hallmark with the initials "AW" separated by a dot, crowned, with fleur-de-lys below) received in 1715 to practice in Calais.
