"Ernest Vauthrin (1879-1949) Oil On Canvas "animated Port In Brittany""
Oil on canvas, signed Bas Gauche. Dimensions 61x50cm and 81x70cm with the frame. "Painter of the sky and the sea", Ernest Vauthrin exhibited at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts of which he became a member in 1906 as well as in Parisian galleries (Bernheim, Durand Ruel ...). Vauthrin devoted most of his work to the maritime world and to Brittany in particular. His production, in a unique style, close to impressionism and the school of Concarneau (a city very present in his work) leaves a large part to glowing skies as in the work we present.
