"Pair Of Louis XVI Period Lyre Chairs "
Pair of 18th century Louis XVI lyre-backed chairs. Resting on four fluted spindle legs, the so-called horseshoe seat recalls the shape of the lyre sculpted in the back. Covered with a yellow silk tapestry with patterns of baskets filled with flowers and garlands of flowers around the edge, in perfect condition without stains or tears! The upholstery is spring-loaded for increased comfort. Coming from a castle located near Dole in the Jura, this model, in terms of its structure and the details given to the sculpture, is reminiscent of the production of Henri Jacob. A stretched fabric placed under the seat protects the strapping retracting the frame, I did not want to dismantle it to check if a stamp was affixed!
