"Two-body Sideboard In Cherry Wood, Louis Philippe Period – Mid-19th Century"
This two-body sideboard in solid cherry opens at the bottom with two drawers with a belt edge with brass knob and two doors with a mitered frame with pegged miter. These doors are decorated with a central ogee molding with amaranth fillet and equipped with an original functional lock with amaranth entries and key. The right-angled uprights are highlighted with identical fillets. The whole rests on a raised plinth with a groove ending in sabot feet. The interior has a fixed shelf. The upper part of this piece of furniture, also opening with two doors, is crafted in the same spirit. When open, these doors provide access to three adjustable shelves mounted on racks. This piece of furniture is topped with a very discreet ogee cornice. The sides have a pegged frame. With a large storage capacity, this two-body sideboard stands out for its size, more precisely its shallow depth, and the warm color of its cherry wood. ******** Period: Mid-19th century Excellent condition.
