Sublime and rare set of a chandelier and its two Louis XVI style gilded bronze sconces.

After a drawing by Jean-Louis Prieur (1732 - 1795), sculptor-chaser and one of the most illustrious bronze makers of the neoclassical period. Traditionally attributed to Pierre Gouthière (gilder and chasers to Kings Louis XV and Louis XVI).
An identical pair of sconces is kept at the Château de Fontainbleu ( France ) and a second pair at the Cleveland Museum of Art , USA.

19th century ; circa 1860 - 1870.
