Set of 4 plates with tripod bronze mounts (claw feet), beautiful Imari decoration. Each plate is unique with a different decoration. Japan, late 19th century, Meiji period. With their recognizable decoration with red and blue floral motifs enhanced with gold, Imari porcelains were very successful in Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries, imported by boatloads from China and Japan. The merchants then sold them as they were or transformed them by decorating them with beautiful European bronzes gilded with fine gold. Beautiful set, used as empty pockets, cake plates.
