Lamp consisting of a Japanese vase made using the Totai Shippo technique, one of the variations of the cloisonné technique. In this case, the cloisonné enamel covers not a metal but a porcelain vessel, which is additionally painted with a cobalt underglaze in the area not covered by the enamel decoration. The decoration shows, among other things, peony flowers and ornamental friezes. Sukamoto Kaisuke (1828-1887) is considered to be the first to use this technique around 1868. The lamp mount is made of bronze.
