Sterling Silver Helmet Ewer By Puiforcat
Artist: Puiforcat
Helmet ewer in solid silver. The circular foot has a row of gadroons, a plain ogee ringed with a flat band and a simply molded collar. The body is divided into three parts by means of molded fillets and a band. The handle, formed by scrolls, is topped with an imposing stylized leaf, one end of which is fixed to the neckline. Work similar to the model of the first helmet ewers made towards the end of the 17th century.
