A pair of Empire period gilt and patinated bronze candlesticks, mounted as lamps, circa 1810
An elegant pair of candlesticks mounted as lamps, in finely chiseled, patinated, and gilt bronze, the shafts fluted, the shafts resting on circular bases with friezes of flowers on a "guilloché" background bordered by a frieze of stars and gadroons.
Fine French work from the Empire period, circa 1810.

In good original condition. Electrification to European standards and possible upgrade to American standards.
These candlesticks have been mounted in lamps without drilling and are fitted with a pair of yellow and gold silk shades.
On request, we can also make custom-made shades in pleated silk.
