"Bronze Representing The Neapolitan Singer Barbadian Cast 1865"
Paul DUBOIS (1829-1905) "The Neapolitan singer" bronze subject on a round marble base, signed and dated 1865, foundry stamp and marked BARBEDIENNE, Height: 77cm, total 94cm. Dedication on the marble and on the base of the bronze: "To Mr. Eugène MILLET architect, The contractors of the Château de Saint Germain en Laye, May 12, 1867 E. MILLET was a student of Viollet-le-Duc, in 1855, he was appointed architect of the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye which was in very poor condition, in 1857, he undertook, at the request of Napoleon III, the complete restoration. Above the door of the museum, a plaque commemorates this project which continued after his death until 1906 thanks to his many drawings.
