Affandi was an Indonesian expressionist painter born in 1907, whose painting technique is characterized by directly squeezing the paint out of its tube. Born in Cirebon, West Java, Affandi finished his upper secondary school in Jakarta. Eventually, the artist gave up his studies to pursue his desire to become a painter.
