"Oriental Painting By Wilda, 1904"
Charles Wilda (1854-1907) was the older brother of the painter Heinrich Gottfried Wilda and the pupil of famous master Leopold Carl Müller at the the Vienna Academy. Wilda is known for his orientalist artworks, many of his oeuvres representing daily life in Cairo. He participated in numerous exhibitions such as the Berlin International Exhibition, the annual exhibition in Munich or the Dresden International Art Exhibition. The Vienna Künstlerhaus Vienna paid tribute to him in 1907 by exhibiting 50 works, most of them oils on canvas. Charles Wilda died aged 52 in Vienna, Austria.
