Five magnificent copper engravings from the 16th century. They represent animated landscapes framed by animals of all kinds. These are original engravings executed by Adriaen Collaert, after H. Bol towards the end of the 16th century. They are in very good condition. Adriaen Collaert is a Flemish engraver born around 1560. Died in 1618 in Antwerp. 16th-17th century. Master, in 1580, in the Antwerp guild, he married Justa Galle, daughter of an engraver, and had as students Elias Van den Bos, Jaeck de Bie, Kerstyaen Cnyff in 1594, Abraham Van Merle in 1597, Adriaen Boon in 1602, Jan Lemmens in 1605. They are presented in modern frames in blackened wood. Partial retouching of black due to friction, scratches. Dimensions of the engravings alone, 21 cm x 14 cm. With the frames, 39 cm x 32 cm.
