Beautiful still life "window at Lomener" composed of a breakfast served and a bowl of fruit, all facing a window overlooking the sea with sailboats and the island of Groix in the background. The whole with rather muted colors, gives off a certain tranquility, just underlined by the green color of the sea. Jean Alexis Joseph Morin known as Morin-Jean was born in Paris in 1877 and died in Nantes in 1940. Archaeologist, painter, engraver and illustrator, he was a student of the engraver Eugène Alfred Delâtre (1864-1938). In 1920 he produced views of the ports of Brittany. He exhibited at the Durand-Ruel gallery in Paris. Indications on the back: "33 bis Bd de Clichy Paris 9th" and the location of the painting: "window at Lomener".
