important large and imposing baroque mirror in carved, lacquered and gilded wood, shaped, decorated with festoons, rocailles, floral and vegetal elements in gilded wood. This spectacular Sicilian Baroque mirror comes from one of the palaces and aristocratic families of Sicily and in particular from Palazzo Mazzarino in Palermo, exhibited together with other mirrors inside the Minerva hall, so called because of a fresco that decorated the ceiling depicting the divinity of minerva . The Mazarin family was one of the most powerful families of the Sicilian aristocracy, and was also present, in the person of Cardinal Mazarin, at the court of the Sun King, Louis XIV, in France.
