Rare Set of 9 Antique Photographs from the 1870s to 1888 taken by the French Photographer and Botanist Hippolyte Peragallo (1851-1921). Some of these photos are signed, located and bear the photographer's stamp on the back. Albumen paper mounted on original cardboard. They represent Soulac Sur Mer in September 1888 and before this date with views of lively beaches as well as a photo before 1875 of the little train which was used in Soulac to build the railway line linking Bordeaux to the Verdon, etc... Format of the 4 largest: 18.5 cm x 13.5 cm (with the cardboards and 16.5 cm x 11.5 cm (Not including the cardboards). Format of the average: 16.3 cm x 10.8 cm (with the cardboard) and 15.8 cm x 9.7 cm (not including the cardboard) Format of the 4 smallest: 17.7 cm x 12 cm (with the cardboards) and 10.5 cm x 7.8 cm (not including the cardboards) This set comes directly from the artist's family Photographs by Hippolyte Peragallo were sold in the auction room on November 14, 2011 at Ader at Drouot room 11 in a photography sale for 600 euros (excluding fees) Lot No. 46.
