German Jugendstil inkwell or penstand with inkwell by Erhard and Sohne. Rectangular in shape, made of rosewood with elaborate brass inlays. Geometric decoration of foliage and trellis. Lion mark with the letter E on the bottom. Circa 1900. The famous German company Erhard and Sohne was founded in 1844 in Germany and obtained the world patent for the manufacture of brass inlays in 1904.
