* Of Italian origin, Emmanuel Villanis trained at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, Italy. A student of Odoardo Tabacchi (1831-1905), he settled in Montmartre in 1885. He mainly produced female bronze figures in the Art Nouveau style. He participated in the Salon from 1886, the Universal Exhibition in 1889 and then in numerous artistic events until 1914.
