It opens at the front with a door with brass-thread frames and a medallion decorated with a charming design of characters in bone and brass marquetry, set against a red tortoiseshell background with Bérain arabesques.
The marquetry is flawless, and the brass threads are all in very good condition.
Each cut corner of the cabinet is decorated with two astragals known as espagnolettes: two large gilded bronzes depicting the graceful busts of smiling women with headdresses.
The sides are framed with bronze threads, as well as the corbel, and they are further embellished with a gilded bronze mascaron.
The cabinet rests on a scalloped plinth, topped by an entablature decorated with friezes of ove and vegetation. The upper part features a projecting ove cornice.
