Corot on the back and dated January 9, 1849, to his friend Robert Hapeling. Image size 18 x 23 cm Cardboard size 19 x 24 cm Under mat 40 x 50 cm Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, generally called Camille Corot, born July 16, 1796 in Paris where he died February 22, 1875, is a French painter and engraver, one of the founders of the Barbizon school. "The Woman with a Pearl Earring", preserved at the Louvre Museum, is a painting from the classical period belonging to the Barbizon school and realism styles. This photograph is an exceptional document that precisely dates this famous painting.
