" First Half Of The 18th Century Painted Wooden Chest "
This poplar chest painted in lean tempera, with a particular lattice motif decoration, is a piece of furniture with a fascinating appearance and rich in details. Its shape is reminiscent of an ancient chest, giving a touch of allure and mystery to the environment in which it is placed. Coming from a factory in the Marche, in the Papal State, in the first half of the 18th century, it was made using poplar wood. The wood has been painted with lean tempera, which gives a matte but bright finish to the furniture. One of the most fascinating details of this chest is the particular lattice motif decoration. Inside, the chest hides a small box dedicated to candles. When opened, this cassette transforms into a worktop holder, offering a useful space to place objects or create a work area.
