Beautiful carving rendering the impression of a realistic animal, on a naturalistic base of reeds and rocks. Old cast iron. Signed on the terrace J. Moigniez. Good general condition. Dimensions: H: 14.5 cm 20x7 cm French animal sculptor. A student of Cornoléra, he made his debut at the 1855 Salon. The Château de Compiègne preserves his Pointing dog with pheasant (bronze).
